Renault - Alpine 110 Bis (1976)

This vehicle is one of the last A110 SC built, modified with group 4 type competition parts in A110 BIS version, by its owner, who has not participated in competitions.

 

Then bought by the Parisian driver Alain Calfoun in 1976, the car in this competition version allowed him to participate in the French circuit championship from 1976 to 1979, the car was then sold to an amateur for road use and it is found later in the world of collectors naturally. A great amatur of the brand, who was himself a berlinetta pilot in rallys at the time bought it, and carried out a major restoration in 2012.

 

The modifications type competitions in Group 4 are in the bodywork with Large homologates bubble type wings, full front bumper and rear hood with aerodynamic spoiler, plus metal and rubber hood clips. The rims are GOTTI type 073R 7X13 at the front and 9X13 at the rear mounted as Michelin Competition TB15, 16 / 53X13 and 20 / 53X13. Group 4 suspensions with tie rods are adjustable, all Water and oil radiators are at the front of the vehicle, the fuel and central tank with aviation opening areon the rear right wing. The windshield is heated and the dashboard is equipped with a mechanical Smith tachometer instead of the original electronic one and oil pressure indicator. An approved removable 6-point roll bar has been fitted, vintage bucket seats and safety harnesses, the momo black leather steering wheel is that of the G4s, card reader, tripmaster, and reversing lights.

The engine is an 1800 cm3 with Weber 45 carburettors, the preparation was made at the time by Mignotet N ° MM154, with modification of the oil filling on the side of the rocker cover and a special camshaft giving a lot of torque. The gearbox is a 365 Monte Carlo type with short ratios with a rally torque tuned, the steering is direct type.

The vehicle has 6 new Gotti wheels, plus 5 PLS wheels fitted with Kumho tires of 215 / 50X13 and 235 / 45X13, or 11 wheels in all.

Originally this car was delivered new in champagne colour then repainted in white for the race, the end of restoration in 2020 gives the traditional, blue

The Alpines A110 Bis were manufactured in 9 copies by the factory, this car is one of the very rare copies made at the time at the request of a customer with all the good mechanical and body parts, many were destroyed or transformed ,
